I have donated to Akin and I will probably continue to do. We can’t expect him to be “perfect” because none of us know the pressures of that job. He has a really wonderful family and I am thankful for his public service.

Why would mr. Akin vote like that in the first place (before with obamacare)… I hope he sticks with constitutional principals and that we DO keep after him.

Kudos to Mr. Ryan. He’s a wonderful patriot and I hope Todd Akin will keep following his lead.

Yes, Rep. Akin has been a stalwart conservative all these years. But when has it ever been so crucial that our representatives really “get it”? Perhaps all the thousands of continuing resolutions over the past decades are exactly what has gotten us where we are?
Playing “Follow [party] the Leader” in Washington DC, at this point in history, could prove fatal for our country. They are/have not been leading in the direction that will save America.

Huge case in point: Bill 525, which pulled everything veteranarian directly in Obamacare–funding-wise, politically and in every other way.

That was a prime example of how Follow the Leader had very dire effects. Something Mr. Akin readily admitted to his constituents who asked him if it was a huge mistake.

Being a wonderful person, even when a very respected Godly man…doesn’t necessarily mean you will automatically be a “great” representative in DC. It takes applying the wisdom, and strength of character to those tough and critical decision points in DC, that does that.
At the present time…I agree with Gravely…Jim. All our representatives bear watching. Not “destroying them”…just being mindful of what they are doing, and the effect it’s actually having on our future.

A couple more things. I have incredible respect and deep appreciation for Todd Akin and his many years of faithful service! In hundreds of calls to his offices here and in DC over many years of being his constituent. I have never been disappointed in his votes, and his stands, until this year.

The repeated support and votes for CRs that continually fund, entrench, and insinuate Obamacare into our daily lives, making it progressively more and more potentially impossible to ever actually remove its effects (whether it’s repealed or not). Not to mention perpetually funding and the resultant implication of support and promotion of Planned Parenthood, the EPA, and NPR (all of which were accopmlished in recent CRs that Mr. Akin voted YES on). All just beg the question. Huh!?

When he’s voting that way in Washington DC, all the while making all appearances and statements at home, to indicate and show that he’s OPPOSED to all those things.. it just really bears some examination and honest questions, of someone who has always before been solidly on the same side of issues as most of his consituents. Or maybe we just never really examined votes the way we do now. Either way, an honest and respectful examination can only be good for our country. Hopefully, every patriot agrees on at least that.
